Professor Laurence Walsh

Prof. Laurence Walsh has held a personal chair in dental science at the University of Queensland since 1999, and has been the Head of the UQ School of Dentistry in Brisbane, Australia since 2004. Laurence is a founding member of the UQ Centre for Biophotonics and Laser Sciences, and is the program leader for the advanced technologies in health care research program. He has been using lasers in his clinical practice for over 20 years, and has lectured internationally on both clinical and basic science aspects of laser dentistry. Laurence founded a widely used laser training program, and he has authored numerous publications in laser dentistry based on his clinical specialist practice and his research work.
