Seeing is Believing...Learn How to master the Art and Science of Endodontics
Endo ED, established by Specialist Endodontists Dr. Guy Shipper and Dr. Michelle Heffernan, aims to provide you with the knowledge and understanding of the latest technologies in endodontics. This will assist you in attaining the biologic goals of endodontic therapy.
‘Seeing is Believing is a dynamic seminar series designed to visually demystify the practice of endodontics and answer some of the basic questions that you may have wondered about for your practice’.
Endodontic treatment is becoming easier and increasingly predictable. Focusing on the common pitfalls that practitioners face in day-to-day practice and by using the latest technological advances, this presentation will help you improve endodontic treatment and get the results you want!
SEEING:
- how to negotiate ledged, curved, or calcified canals
- the MB2 Canal
- methods to determine working length (apex locators)
- which irrigants & medicaments are the most effective
- the latest in obturation systems
The seminar will be an audiovisual presentation, displaying videos, clinical photos, and illustrations. Throughout the evening, various clinical cases will also be presented. These cases will be similar to the patients that you treat in your own practice.
There will be an open discussion forum and each participant is encouraged to bring x-rays of endodontic cases from their practice.
About the Presenters
Dr Guy Shipper
BDS, MDent (Wits, SA), MS (UNC Chapel Hill, USA)
Dr. Guy Shipper is Senior Lecturer in Endodontics at the University of Sydney.He also treats patients in his specialist endodontic private practice, BMA House Endodontists, on Macquarie Street in Sydney.
Dr. Shipper obtained his dental degree and Masters Degree in Prosthodontics at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. Dr. Shipper then obtained his second specialist training in the USA. He completed his Masters Degree in Endodontics from the University of North Carolina, School of Dentistry at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA.
Dr. Shipper is eligible to be a Diplomat of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Shipper has lectured at endodontic meetings in the United States, Europe, and Australia. He has been active in continuing education courses in Australia during the past 3 years. He has published numerous papers in the Journal of Endodontics, International Endodontic Journal, and Dental Traumatology. Dr. Shipper’s papers have become one of the most cited in Endodontics during the past 5 years.
Prior to relocating to Sydney a few years ago, he practiced in a private endodontic practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA.
Dr. Michelle Heffernan
DMD (Univ of Pittsburgh, USA), MS (UNC Chapel Hill, USA)
Dr. Michelle Heffernan is the Head of Discipline of Endodontics at the University of Sydney. She also provides surgical and non-surgical endodontic treatment for patients at the Sydney Dental Hospital and in her private practice, BMA House Endodontists, on Macquarie Street in Sydney. Dr. Heffernan’s dental career started at the University of Pittsburgh in the USA, where she obtained a degree in dental hygiene and then her dental degree.
She obtained her Masters Degree in Endodontics at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Prior to relocating to Sydney, Dr. Heffernan practiced in a private endodontic practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA.
Dr. Heffernan is a prominent lecturer and clinical educator in Australia. Dr. Heffernan has given numerous lectures in the USA and Australia. Over the last three years, Dr. Heffernan has introduced rotary endodontics and microscopes to the student clinics at the University of Sydney.
